What you’ll be doing
as a Project Support Network Service Technician
1. Supporting the delivery of mains upgrade projects across the Thames Valley, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
2. Assisting teams with Pressure Management Maintenance, contributing to operational reliability.
3. Responding to reactive requests from network colleagues where possible, helping to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
4. Carrying out inspections and checks on High Consequence Valves and High-Risk Valves to ensure compliance with business and regulatory standards.
5. Ensuring all work meets water quality standards and demonstrates an understanding of potential supply interruptions.
6. Always adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures on every site.
7. Demonstrating Thames Water’s core values and behaviours through collaborative, respectful, and proactive teamwork.
8. Working both independently and as part of a highly organised, goal-driven team.
9. Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the delivery of the Team Thames vision.
The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role are:
10. An interest in, or basic understanding of, clean water networks, with the willingness to learn and perform key operational tasks.
11. A full UK driving licence and confidence in travelling to multiple sites as required.
12. An appreciation of health and safety standards, along with a readiness to develop a strong understanding of the Permit to Work system and the importance of procedural compliance.
13. The following certifications would be advantageous, though not essential, as training can be provided: Water Hygiene NRSWA (Unit 2) Disinfection, Sampling, and Flushing Valve Operations CALM (Customer Access Link Management)
