About the Role
This is a role for a teacher who thrives on flexibility, creativity and connection. At Chestnut Hill, every child is unique, and your teaching will reflect that—engaging, personalised and purposeful.

As a Class Teacher, you will:

1. Plan and deliver dynamic, personalised lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs
2. Develop innovative teaching approaches that spark curiosity and joy in learning
3. Monitor and assess progress to support both academic achievement and personal growth
4. Place wellbeing at the heart of learning, building confidence and resilience
5. Work collaboratively with specialist staff and therapists to provide holistic support
6. Access extensive resources, training and guidance through Outcomes First Group

You’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team united by a shared belief: every child can succeed with the right support.

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking a teacher who brings enthusiasm, empathy and ambition:

Essential:

7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (not suitable for ECTs/NQTs)
8. GCSEs and A-Levels (or equivalent)
9. A creative, flexible and child-centred approach to teaching
10. A strong commitment to inclusion and high expectations for every pupil
11. Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

12. Experience working with SEN and/or ASC pupils
13. Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
14. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team

About Us

Chestnut Hill is a small, independent school catering to autistic pupils and young people aged 8-19.We aim to provide an inclusive, safe, inspiring and supportive environment in which our pupils are encouraged to form friendships, aspire and believe in themselves, discover new ways of learning, develop skills for life, know they are valued and have a sense of belonging. The student’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything Chestnut Hill will do, and we aim to build close relationships with parents/guardians and work collaboratively with alternative provision professionals, such as speech and language, art and occupational therapists. To support students' specific needs. We will always strive for the very best for our young people.

Our individually tailored curriculum will cover all Areas of Learning (AoLE's) from the New Welsh Curriculum, in imaginative and flexible ways for pupils ages 8 to 19. We aim to provide Regular opportunities for pupils to access a wide range of activities including yoga, cycling, forest school, swimming and coaching in inclusive and traditional sports by external coaches and internal facilitators.

We are located in Holywell, a beautiful market town and community in Flintshire, Wales.

For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults.
