Job overview

We are looking to recruit a part time experienced administrator to join our friendly team based at Onelife, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough providing support to the South Tees Musculoskeletal Service and Diabetes Service.

Onelife is a community health centre providing care, support and information to people in the local community. There is free parking available to staff. As an essential part of the team you will be the first point of contact for service users, carers, staff and external partners, providing comprehensive and professional administrative support.

Whilst having previous experience in a customer service role is essential, NHS or other healthcare service experience is desirable. We are first and foremost looking for a colleague with a passion for helping people and who believes in excellent customer service, and who can work as a member of a team.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job will include managing clinic diaries, dealing with patients primarily by email or on the telephone and also face to face, referral management using both ERS and Systm One and providing administrative an clerical support to clinicians to enable efficiency of service, covering for the administrator/transcriber during times of sickness, annual leave and other absence.

The ability to remain calm, to communicate clearly and to adhere to confidentiality is required.

1. GCSEs A-C (Maths & English) or equivalent qualification or experience
2. Advanced keyboard skills, to OCR/RSA 2 standard or equivalent demonstrable experience

4. Good communication skills to effectively exchange information to patients, carers and health professionals
5. Ability to work using own initiative and part of a team without direct supervision

8. Experience of using software packages spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint and Excel
