Exciting opportunity to join the clinical nurse specialist role in Wirral within the Haematology team caring for out patients and in patients.
Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is situated on The Wirral peninsula with a large acute care network and a focus on patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
* Undertake independent nurse led clinics and perform bone marrow biopsies.
* Prescribe and administer chemotherapy.
* Act as a link nurse for consultants, supporting patients through the pathway within the Haematology MDT.
* Undertake Holistic Needs Assessments at various stages of the patient pathway and obtain consent to chemotherapy treatment.
* Lead the development, management and promotion of the service to deliver high quality, cost-effective care.
* Collaborate with the MDT to implement personalised care as aligned with the National cancer strategy.
* Apply advanced knowledge and stakeholder insights and patient experience to redesign services, stimulate innovative practice, implement improvements, and ensure services meet patient needs.
* Promote person-centred care and co-create care with people affected by cancer.
* Use local and National cancer patient experience surveys to influence and improve the service.
* Colloate and record quantitative and qualitative data to provide evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality through audit and research.
* Ensure compliance with Quality Surveillance Programme (QSP) measures, including annual report and operational policy.
