Legal Cashier

* Role Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reed Accountancy Norwich is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join the Accounts team of a well-established and extremely busy legal services organisation. This role is ideal for someone with strong finance experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing client and office account transactions.
* Handling completions, deposits, disbursements, professional fees, and financial allocations.
* Checking and confirming entries on completion statements.
* Setting up electronic payments.
* Processing payments to third parties including referrers.
* Conducting daily banking and bank reconciliations.
* Preparing completion statements, ledgers, and client balances.
* Monitoring client account balances to avoid breaches.
* Liaising with fee-earners, clients, banks, and external bodies regarding financial queries.
* Supporting VAT returns, audits, and compliance reporting.
* Assisting the Head Cashier with wider finance tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience as a Legal Cashier (highly desirable).
* Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and AML procedures.
* Proficiency with legal accounting software.
* Excellent accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
* Confident communication skills across all stakeholders.
* 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
