Senior PLM Development Engineer
Contract: Permanent
WFH: Onsite
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (DOE)
Location: Burton-Upon-Trent
We’re seeking a Senior PLM Development Engineer to lead the development, configuration, and enhancement of our client’s newly upgraded Teamcenter + Active Workspace environment. This is a technically hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll take ownership of delivering new PLM functionality, driving reporting and analytics capability, improving workflows, and stabilising a complex multi-server engineering system used globally.
Following a major upgrade, the organisation is entering a transformative phase, working closely with Siemens, and needs an experienced PLM specialist who can hit the ground running, guide the team, and turn roadmap ideas into deliverable solutions.
Responsibilities
* Develop, configure, and enhance Teamcenter (AWC & RAC), including style sheets, templates, UI components, workflows, and data models (BMIDE).
* Enable new reporting & analytics features, replacing manual Excel-driven processes with automated dashboards and live PLM reporting.
* Work on development servers, implementing, testing, and deploying new functionality.
* Support post-upgrade stabilisation by investigating database and application issues and delivering long-term fixes.
* Ensure engineering data is consumable for analytics, reporting, and enterprise processes.
* Collaborate closely with Siemens, engineering leads, and PLM stakeholders to deliver roadmap functionality.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers within the engineering systems team.
Skills & Experience
* 4+ years’ experience developing or supporting PLM systems, ideally Teamcenter across RAC and AWC.
* Hands-on experience with BMIDE, workflows, style sheets, templates, and UI configuration.
* Strong programming/scripting ability (Java, ITK, SOA, Perl, or similar).
* Experience enabling reporting/analytics within PLM environments (TcRA or equivalent).
* Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills across multi-server PLM architectures.
* Ability to lead technical improvements, influence direction, and deliver production-ready solutions.
* Experience collaborating with vendors (e.g., Siemens) and engineering leadership.
* Eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
