An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position requires overseeing and managing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team
* Possess strong financial understanding
* Be capable of problem-solving
* Be confident in leading a team
* Be self-motivated and driven
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the company's credit function
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, assist in negotiations for renewal terms
* Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports
* Oversee cash collection for all group companies
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to
* Manage the Credit Control Department and team
* Handle credit applications, PODs, and major credit decisions
* Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency cases
* Set and review credit policies and risk assessments for existing and new accounts
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders and visit customers as needed
