Jobstore are looking for an experienced machinist to operate industrial sewing machines to assemble fabric, vinyl and leather components for Upholstered Furniture such as sofas and chairs.

This role is working Monday - Friday 07.30am - 16.30pm with an early finish on Fridays, it requires skill in handling various upholstery materials, following patterns, and ensuring high-quality stitched products in a fast-paced production environment. Key responsibilities include operating different industrial machines, stitching fabric according to patterns, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Machinery: Safely operate a variety of industrial sewing machines, including flat-bed, overlock, and twin-needle models.
Stitching Furniture Components: Sew fabric and leather pieces for various upholstered items, such as sofas and chairs.
Pattern Following: Follow production specifications and patterns to ensure the correct assembly of components.
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets established quality and safety standards.
Workspace Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and tidy and handle materials and machinery with care.
You may be required to work in alternative areas of the factory as demand fluctuates
Carry out Stock Control Checks as and when required
Keep a clean, tidy and organised work environment at all times
Required Skills
Industrial machine knowledge: Experience with industrial sewing machines.
Material knowledge: Familiarity with handling different types of upholstery fabrics and leather.
Precision and detail: An eye for detail and precision to create high-quality, well-stitched items.
Teamwork: The ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced team.
