We are seeking an experienced full-time Specialty Doctor who will work at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield and provide psychiatric care on our 15-bed low secure service for women.
Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers a low secure service for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents across three distinct wards.
This role is based on Spencer Ward, our 15-bed inpatient service providing assessment and treatment for women with mental disorders. Treatment is aimed at identification and management of needs rather than just a particular diagnosis.

You will be fully involved as a practicing psychiatrist, while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and a first-class multidisciplinary team.

Main duties and Responsibilities
* Provide routine medical and psychiatric support, including initial clerking and mental state examination of newly admitted patients.
* Assess, investigate, diagnose, and treat inpatients under Consultant supervision.
* Maintain good communication with ward nursing staff, mental health professionals, and other agencies as required.
* Participate in weekly ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings, including CPA, Tribunal hearings, and Section 117 meetings.
* Maintain comprehensive records of assessments and interventions.
* Prepare discharge summaries following company policies and guidelines.
* Attend mandatory training such as BLS, ILS, Breakaway/PMVA, Moving and Transferring, Infection Control, and H&S.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, staff, and other stakeholders, maintaining appropriate reports.
* Participate in the on-call duty rota as needed.
