We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly GP practice team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting safe, effective, and efficient prescribing within primary care.
Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work alongside GPs, pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff to optimise patient care. You will support medicines management processes, improve prescribing safety, and help ensure patients receive the best possible outcomes from their treatments.

All our appointments are booked by ourexperienced care navigation team who ensure that patients are booked in withthe right clinicians to help the patient. They use a navigation tool called Sentierswhich has been adapted to meet our needs and appointment system. Helping toensure the right patient sees the right clinician first time.
Job responsibilities
* Carry out medicinesreconciliation following hospital discharge
* Manage repeat prescriptionprocesses and ensure accuracy
* Support prescription queries andliaise with community pharmacies
* Assist in audits related toprescribing and medicines safety
* Identify and action prescribingsafety alerts
* Support systems for monitoring andrecall of long-term condition medications
* Identify and reduce medicationerrors and improve systems
* Support medication reviews andprescription processes for care home residents within scope of practice
* Support patients with medicationunderstanding and adherence
* Update and maintain accuratepatient medication records
Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Knowledge of medicines management and safety
Qualifications
* Qualified Pharmacy Technician with current registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Experience
* Experience working in pharmacy (community, hospital, or primary care)
* Experience in primary care or GP practice setting
* Understanding of NHS prescribing systems (e.g. EMIS)
* Experience with audits or quality improvement
