PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER – Full and Part‑time Roles Available
East Staffordshire Borough Council is committed to creating a safe environment for those within the Borough and is looking to recruit a Parking Enforcement Officer.
Overview
This role joins a team of five Officers including a Supervisor and involves parking enforcement in East Staffordshire Borough Council owned car parks, enforcement of littering and dog fouling, preparing witness statements, and attending court.
Responsibilities
* Patrol Council owned car parks and issue Penalty Charge Notices for contraventions of parking orders.
* Maintain parking machines and report defects.
* Create accurate reports and witness statements.
* Manage conflict and challenging behaviour when dealing with residents, Council Members, and other stakeholders.
* Guarantee compliance with applicable laws and legislation.
* Complete shift patterns of 37 hours per week, including weekends, bank holidays, and the Christmas/New Year period between 7 am – 8 pm.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full driving licence.
* GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths at Grade C or higher.
* Certificated qualifications in Civil Enforcement are desirable.
* Experience working in a local authority environment, especially with residents and parking enforcement.
* Basic IT skills.
* Excellent communication, record‑keeping, observant and calm under pressure.
* Willingness to keep up with legislation.

Hours and Working Conditions
37 hours per week on a shift pattern including weekends, bank holidays, and the Christmas/New Year period, hours between 7 am – 8 pm.
