The role
Reporting to the Head of QA, the QA Engineer will enhance software quality by working closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams and will sit in one of our Agile squads. Key responsibilities include writing automated test code (API and UI), exploratory testing, providing feedback on requirements, and maintaining test suites. The role also involves bug reporting, performing root cause analysis, and conducting mobile testing. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to process documentation and knowledge sharing. This position aims to reduce defects, improve customer satisfaction, and ease the workload on related teams.
What you’ll bring to the role

* An understanding of tests in infrastructure and the importance of testing in continuous delivery.
* Make the most of manual testing: champions the customer and the user experience.
* Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail to identify and address issues promptly and accurately.
* Works effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers.
* Be an advocate for guidelines for quality assurance processes, including standards for test planning, execution, and reporting.
* Maintains a strong commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Technical skills/knowledge
* Strong understanding of Typescript and its use in creating custom test frameworks, scripts and data manipulation. - essential
* Expert in a front end test automation framework such as Playwright or Cypress - essential
* Practical knowledge of Git - essential
* Experience with automation API testing - essential
* Experience with integration testing web & mobile applications with third party systems - essential
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and contribution of continuous QA effort - essential
* Have worked in more than one programming language with an understanding of using the best tool for the job - desirable
* Ability to utilise production logging software (Datadog, Mixpanel, etc…) to help isolate customer facing issues and provide context for bugs - desirable
* Scripting and automation - to be able to use technologies such as bash to write and automate essential processes to the role - desirable
* Experience with microservices and GraphQL - desirable
* Working knowledge of Go - desirable
