Job summary
The Strategic Procurement Lead will play a key role in the delivery of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust's and STP's procurement strategy, providing strategic procurement leadership to support the Trust's operational and strategic objectives.
The post holder will support the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and Head of Procurement in identifying and delivering procurement efficiencies, wider cost and service improvements.
The post holder will develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external to the Trust, promoting a culture of shared responsibility for procurement issues within the context of Trust objectives.
The post holder will work in collaboration with the Head of Procurement on strategic procurement matters which impact on the operational workings of the Procurement Team.
Working with divisional colleagues, the post holder will drive and deliver the Directorate’s approach to ongoing cost improvement programmes on a forward plan basis that is robustly and transparently managed.
In partnership with the Head of Procurement, produce and deliver the Trust's procurement strategy.
Working with the Head of Procurement, ensure that there are appropriate systems and processes in place to deliver and drive forward the service improvement agenda to achieve efficiency gains and improve operational effectiveness.
The post holder will deliver key strategic objectives including identifying 'value for money' opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver strategic procurement leadership to support the Trust's and STP's procurement strategy and objectives.
* Support the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and Head of Procurement in identifying and delivering procurement efficiencies and wider cost and service improvements.
* Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote shared responsibility for procurement.
* Collaborate with the Head of Procurement on strategic procurement matters affecting the Procurement Team's operations.
* Drive and deliver cost improvement programmes with a robust forward plan in collaboration with divisional colleagues.
* Produce and deliver the Trust's procurement strategy in partnership with the Head of Procurement.
* Ensure systems and processes are in place to deliver service improvement, efficiency gains and improved operational effectiveness.
* Deliver key strategic objectives including identifying value for money opportunities.
Qualifications
* Evidence of a good standard of written English appropriate to the role
