We have a great reputation as a local employer and we work positively with unions, with an emphasis on fairness and equity. We find ways to reduce unnecessary workload. We are positive about flexible working requests and are constantly seeking out best practice to enhance employee experience. We consult on any big changes to policy. We listen carefully to our employees through an annual nationally benchmarked survey and through many opportunities to hear the voice of the individual. We are compassionate when colleagues face difficulties and seek to remove barriers to enhance employee engagement. We have a free Employee Assistance Programme that provides confidential counselling and advice for employees and their family. We dedicate time to teamwork. We authentically value staff through specific praise, recognising what they do to make a difference to the lives of young people daily. We understand the need for psychological safety, and we work hard to remove the barriers to true inclusion for all. Our people matter, being a People First Organisation is a key strategic aim and our People Charter frames our commitment - included in the candidate pack below.
