What is the job?
The Fabrication Administrator plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the fabrication department within our Bristol depot. This position ensures that all documentation, scheduling, procurement, and administrative processes related to fabrication are handled efficiently, enabling the production team to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
Administrative Support
What will you be doing in this role
* Prepare, process, and maintain fabrication job sheets, work orders, and project documentation.
* Track project progress, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Procurement & Inventory
* Request quotes for materials, equipment, and services.
* Create, issue, receive and process purchase orders.
* Issue fabrication and paint shop stock, ensuring accurate records are kept.
* Carry out stock evaluations, usage reports, and stock issue tracking.
Production & Costing Administration
* Create worksheets for fabrication and paint shop processes.
* Maintain and update the worksheet register for fabrication and paint.
* Carry out costing of worksheets and manage authorisation processes.
* Cross-check employee timesheets against worksheets for accuracy.
* Update and maintain the Masterfile crash frames.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all documentation meets company and industry standards.
* Assist with compliance reporting, health & safety documentation, and audits.
* Maintain adherence to fabrication and assembly procedures.
Communication & Reporting
* Provide regular updates and reports on fabrication progress, resource use, and costs.
* Act as the first point of contact for administrative queries from the fabrication team.
Skills And Requirement
* Previous experience in an administrative role within manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication (experience in the generator or power industry desirable).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
* Attention to detail with strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, or engineering terminology is beneficial.
