The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre provides support to projects ranging in complexity and size across programme and project management, project planning, cost engineering, risk management, and commercial disciplines. We support the full project lifecycle pre‑contract and post‑contract, delivering infrastructure projects from several hundred thousand pounds to major programmes exceeding £200 M.
Due to growing client requirements we are actively expanding our team to support our Defence client portfolio and to provide challenging commissions.
Important: Security Clearance
Because of the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Holders of clearance are desirable; if you feel you would be a great candidate please apply.
Job Description
As a Senior Project Controls professional, you will provide the project controls service required by our clients with an emphasis on planning.
* Create and maintain project schedules that support and align with project requirements.
* Develop the project schedules in conjunction with the project manager and project team.
* Reduce uncertainty, clarify objectives and improve efficiency.
* Interact with and assist project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
* Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
* Assist project managers to maintain timely and effective change‑management processes and procedures.
* Assist the project team to develop status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
* Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
Qualifications
You have professional project controls experience, specialising in planning and scheduling across the whole project lifecycle. You are proficient with Primavera (P6) and other planning and resourcing software and can coordinate across interdisciplinary teams.
* Have a degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
* Are a member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Association for Project Management, Project Management Institute).
* Have strong leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example.
* Have strong stakeholder management experience.
Working In Teams / Site Attendance
Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of hybrid working. You will be expected to be on client sites or offices 60% of the time, which may vary by client and business requirements.
