How you'll make a differenceAs a Barista in the coffee lounge, your friendly and approachable personality will help create a welcoming space for colleagues at our Badminton Road Office. With a customer focused service, you will serve beverages and light snacks in a fast paced environment. What you will be doingProviding excellent customer service, you will welcome and greet customers, while constantly striving to improve customer relations. Preparing beverages and light food products, you will ensure all displays are well stocked and replenished to maintain and anticipate customers’ needs. On occasions, you will be required to prepare, deliver and present buffet food to functions and meetings.You will be operating a till, including collecting and processing customer payments for cash, credit and debit cards.Listening to customer issues or complaints, you will deal with any concerns in an efficient yet friendly manner and report to the manager on duty.You will keep work surfaces clean and follow cleaning schedules, including the deep cleaning of machinery where required, complying with health, safety and hygiene guidelines.Carrying out stock checks and other duties such as checking equipment and reporting defects or problems, you will help ensure the team can deliver a smooth running service and opening and closing for each shift. What we need from youYou will have previous experience in a similar catering role or be willing to undertake basic training.We require you to have practical skills and be keen to learn the use of basic tools and equipment such as coffee machines and tills.It is essential that you are able and willing to follow basic processes and procedures to ensure the job is carried out safely.Ideally, you will have either an NVQ Level 1 qualification in barista experience or equivalent qualification, or have equivalent barista experience.A foundation certificate in food hygiene would be beneficial. What you need to knowThis is a casual part-time role, working ad-hoc hours.Your shift patterns will alternate:Week one: 8:00am - 12:00pmWeek two: 11:30am - 3:30pmThe coffee lounge is open 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) 8:30am - 3:30pm.
