Cloud Transformation and Strategy Operations Manager
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is hiring a Cloud Transformation and Strategy Operations Manager.
Overview
Join the Technology Operations Center (TOC) leadership team to ensure continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and effective coordination of major incidents. Champion IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, driving process improvement and service reliability through ITIL frameworks. Act as a key Business Relationship Manager (BRM) for the Columbia Threadneedle UK organisation, serving as a trusted advisor to regional business units and driving strategic alignment between IT capabilities and business needs.
Responsibilities
* Lead ITSM Strategy & Governance (approximately 50% of time): develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide ITSM strategy aligned with organizational goals; define and enforce ITIL-based policies, processes, and procedures; oversee core ITIL functions (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfillment, Configuration Management); establish KPIs and metrics to monitor service performance, availability, and customer satisfaction.
* Business Relationship Management (approximately 25%): serve as the strategic liaison between IT and business units; build strong stakeholder relationships; ensure clear communication and expectation management; support IT service delivery and drive continuous service improvement.
* Technology Operations Center Leader and Major Incident Coordination (approximately 15%): manage IT infrastructure services delivered by external vendors to meet SLAs; liaise with Business Continuity teams in EMEA and lead Disaster Recovery Exercises; act as escalation point for critical issues; oversee governance of IT operations and ensure outsourcing aligns with enterprise goals and regulatory standards.
* Team Leadership and Cross-functional Collaboration (approximately 10%): lead a team of operations engineers and analysts; partner with application and product teams across global 24x7 operations (including India and US); drive infrastructure resilience, security, and digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred or equivalent experience).
* Extensive IT experience with service management, operations, or infrastructure support; prior leadership or managerial experience.
* Proven track record in IT service delivery, ITSM process implementation, and managing major incidents in large-scale environments.
* ITIL Foundation certification (Intermediate or Expert preferred).
* Experience in business analysis, stakeholder management, and bridging technical and non-technical teams.
* Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, ITSM frameworks, and service management platforms.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Proficient in data analysis, performance reporting, change management, and continuous improvement.
Nice-to-have
* BRM Institute certification, PMP, CBAP, or other governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO/IEC 20000).
* Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management, Freshservice; knowledge of CMDB and IT performance monitoring platforms; familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell).
