Your role:
The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for providing tactical Supply Chain support for Elanco External Manufacturing. The role is responsible for creating/maintaining production plans with CMs (Contract Manufacturers). This role champions Supply Chain standard processes and has the responsibility of ensuring production schedule is aligned with market requirements. This role needs to ensure accurate planning in SAP, track and manage KPIs, manage inventory of materials and products, provide timely communication on supply status and ensure material is available for shipment to Elanco markets in-time with requirements. This position will report directly to EEM SC Director with dotted line to Operations Director.
Your responsibilities:
Production Planning
1. Manage production planning cycles in SAP (PPDS) and align demand with capacity at external manufacturers
2. Review market requirements with supply planning teams to ensure service and inventory targets are met
3. Generate and maintain rolling production plans and support long-term capacity planning
4. Partner with internal teams and contract manufacturers to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable
Order & Supplier Management
5. Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries and maintain accurate system data
6. Follow up with contract manufacturers on open orders and delivery timelines
7. Support invoicing, goods receipts and issue resolution across SAP/Ariba
8. Act as a key contact for internal teams to ensure alignment on deliveries and logistics
Inventory & Risk Management
9. Monitor inventory levels across materials and finished goods
10. Identify risks (expiry, slow-moving stock, losses) and propose mitigation actions
11. Support inventory reconciliations and physical counts at external manufacturing sites
12. Help manage write-offs and stock adjustments when required
Master Data & Systems
13. Maintain accurate master data (lead times, costs, MOQ, safety stock) in SAP
14. Support vendor setup and updates across internal systems
15. Ensure data integrity and support reporting and planning processes
Operational Coordination
16. Track key supply chain KPIs (on-time delivery, stock levels, losses, etc.)
17. Support supply review/R&OP meetings and ensure follow-up on actions
18. Assist with deviations, change controls and continuous improvement initiatives
19. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
20. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of the degree 2+ years’ experience in Supply chain management
21. Ability to build collaborative relationships with areas inside and outside of Elanco
22. Production Planning experience
23. Microsoft Office (Excel, Power point, Word)
24. Advanced English skills (spoken/written)
25. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
26. SAP competency (MRP, PPDS, IBP, Ariba)
27. APICS CPIM or equivalent supply chain certification
28. Oral and written communication/ interpersonal interaction skills
29. Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes
30. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively
31. Experience interfacing with various manufacturing functional groups, such as production, logistics, quality control, quality assurance, and technical services
32. Logistics/ Inventory experience
33. Knowledge of Power BI and other report/dashboard creation tools to support the operation
34. Excellent analytical skills
Additional Information:
35. Overnight travel may be required (5-10%)
36. Location: Hybrid - 30 days per quarter on-site
