Blackbrook Barns is a luxury, family-run wedding and events venue known for exceptional service, high standards, and memorable guest experiences. We are looking for a reliable, confident, and experienced Evening/Night Supervisor to join our operations team for the 2026 season and beyond.
Role Overview
As the Evening/Night Supervisor, you will be the senior on-site contact during evening operations for weddings and events. You will oversee the venue, bar, staff, guest experience, safety, and close-down procedures. You must be available to work evenings, late nights (often until 2am), and weekends, as this role is entirely event-based.
Annual leave must be taken on days where no events are scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Event Operations & Guest Experience
* Lead the smooth running of evening and night operations for weddings and events.
* Be the primary point of contact for guests, suppliers, and venue staff during evening hours.
* Ensure exceptional customer service at all times.
* Handle complaints professionally, promptly, and with confidence.
* Oversee and direct evening staff.
* Brief, motivate, and manage the team to ensure high standards throughout the event.
* Ensure all staff follow venue procedures and safety protocols.
Bar & Stock Management
* Oversee bar operations, ensuring efficient service and responsible alcohol management.
* Complete stock checks, audits, and restocking duties.
* Place or report stock orders where necessary.
Safety, Compliance & Manual Handling
* Ensure safety of guests and staff at all times.
* Carry out venue checks and monitor crowd flow and behaviour.
* Confidently manage emergency situations or incidents if they arise.
* Carry out manual handling tasks, including moving furniture, equipment, and stock.
Venue Close-Down & End-of-Night Procedures
* Supervise the close-down of the venue to the required standard.
* Lock up the venue securely and follow all end-of-night protocols.
* Complete end-of-shift reports and handover notes.
Administration & Communication
* Use venue systems for logging incidents, stock levels, and shift tasks.
* Communicate clearly with the daytime operations team for seamless handovers.
* Use basic computer software for emails, stock sheets, and reports.
* Previous experience in hospitality, specifically weddings or special events.
* Experience supervising or managing a team.
* Strong customer service and complaint-handling skills.
* Confident in bar operations and alcohol service.
* Competent in manual handling and physically able to move items safely.
* Organised, disciplined, and detail orientated.
* Comfortable working late nights (up to 2am) and weekends.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic computer literacy (email, stock sheets, reporting).
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and think quickly.
* Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
* First aid training (or willingness to undertake training).
* Experience with wedding timelines and supplier coordination.
* Personal licence holder (preferred but not essential).
