Are you a confident leader who thrives on bringing out the best in others? Are you calm under pressure, tactful, and eager to create a safe and welcoming environment?
Are you a self-motivated Operations Manager - Fire & Security to lead the vital operations that protect our heritage estate at Chatsworth.
What You’ll Do
* Lead, develop and coach a high-performing Security Team through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and day-to-day engagement.
* Confidently manage performance, wellbeing, and absence, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and support.
* Deliver clear communication—even when it’s not the easiest message—to ensure clarity, direction, and team alignment.
* Work closely with the family and senior leaders, balancing high-level expectations with operational demands.
* Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of all fire and security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder and fire alarms, etc.).
* Ensure robust security procedures, compliant policies, and emergency readiness across the estate.
* Be a key presence at events and exhibitions, coordinating both internal and external resources as needed.
About you
You will be a people-focused leader with a proven track record managing a large team, with experience in fire and security operations (CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, fire alarms, etc.) and a strong knowledge and understanding of security and fire safety protocols, legislation, and emergency planning, gained within a high profile customer facing organisation where your remit included strategic and operational management of the fire and security functions.
You must be a clear and confident communicator, and comfortable operating in a customer-facing, high-profile environment, where discretion and tact are key and where there is a requirement to work closely with internal teams, contractors, and emergency services alike.
You will be adept at balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement, from big-picture planning to emergency drills along with excellent organisational skills and high standards of record keeping.
Given the nature of the role, candidates should live locally within 15 minutes of the estate or be willing to relocate.
