Domestic General Operative Estates & Facilities Campus Support Grade 3 - £25,878 (pro rata) per annum Working pattern: Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00 20 hour per week. As a Domestic General Operative, you will be responsible for the cleaning of University buildings and refuse removal. Your work will primarily be in our external areas around our City Centre buildings and roof gardens. You will play a vital role in ensuring our students, staff and guests have a clean and safe environment in which to work so that they get the best possible impression during their time here. You will need to be customer focused, have good communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working in a professional/ customer focussed environment and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service are also required. and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment. You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 22% of your salary). For a starting salary of £25,000, for example, the University would pay just over £5,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £510 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
