Job Overview

Through the application of the EHS Management System the role holder will promote and encourage the highest levels of EHS performance to assure compliance with legal, and other regulatory standards utilising risk assessment to drive continuous EHS improvement. The role also ensures that future Power Solutions facilities meet all EHS legal, regulatory, and business requirements.

* Maintain site EHS Management System and the continual improvement of EHS working practices in line with the latest legislation and regulations.
* Complete EHS audits, report results and follow up to ensure actions are taken.
* Create and communicate EHS KPI metrics.
* Monitor and assess hazardous or unsafe situations, developing measures to assure personnel safety.
* Support development of the Business Management System (BMS) to achieve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification
* Conduct investigations of all accidents, near‑misses and reports to line management.
* Maintain incident and accident reporting through EHS CCAR system and proactively closes out preventative actions.
* Participate in toolbox and planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work plan.
* Reviews and approves all subcontractors’ safety plans and RAMS documentation and supports Contractor Inductions when required.
* Responsible for engaging with employees (and contractors) at all levels to promote a positive safety culture.
* Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
* Advise and instruct on various safety‑related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
* Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
* Provide training on EHS Inductions and other TPS EHS key procedures and processes.
* Carry out Permit‑To‑Work (PTW) monitoring and review.


The Skills, Knowledge and Experience


Required:

* Degree or postgraduate diploma recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
* NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent qualification.
* In‑depth knowledge of The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Electrical Safety experience and in‑depth knowledge of the ‘The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989’ an advantage.
* Qualification and experience in relevant EHS Management Systems – ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and 45001 (Health and Safety Management Systems)
* Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation.
* Experience working to strict delivery timescales and the confidence to challenge delays in process.
* Experience in ergonomics of manufacturing operations and computer workstation assessments.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Experience in ergonomics of manufacturing operations and computer workstation assessments
* Confidence in ensuring compliance with regulatory servicing and inspection requirements.
* Experience of conducting and reviewing risk assessments and audits.
* Good knowledge of EHS audits and legal compliance requirements.
* Attention to detail and a persistent approach to following up enquiries.
* Able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
* Experienced in Microsoft programs (including SharePoint experience)
* Experience in HaV safety with EV Lithium Batteries and associated electrical systems
* Experience in Facilities Management
