HR Advisor – Ashford | £33,000 per annum

We’re looking for a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join our team in Ashford. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you’ll be the first point of contact for managers, providing balanced, practical and commercially focused HR advice across a range of employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for managers seeking HR advice and guidance on employee relations issues.
* Support and advise managers on a range of ER cases, including:
* Sickness absence management (short and long term)
* Investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances
* Performance and capability management
* Whistleblowing and flexible working requests
* Provide guidance on suspension processes and coordinate meetings, hearings, and investigations.
* Attend and support formal meetings, taking accurate and confidential notes.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with trade union representatives.
* Draft professional correspondence, including outcome letters and case documentation.
* Monitor sickness absence and escalate trigger points where required.
* Support with occupational health referrals and follow-up actions.
* Deliver training and coaching to managers on absence management and HR processes.
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in HR policy and procedure.
* Undertake ad hoc project work as required by the HR Business Partner.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
* CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards), or equivalent experience in an HR Advisory role.
* Proven experience advising on complex ER matters.
* Experience working with trade unions and employee representatives (desirable).
Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to draft professional and accurate documentation.
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
* Confident delivering training and coaching to managers.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office (experience with iTrent is highly desirable).
