PR Manager / PR Specialist (Contract)
Location: London - Remote
Duration: 1 year contract (from April 2026 onwards)
Day Rate: £300-350 per day
We are working with a leading global organisation to recruit an experienced PR Manager/PR Specialist to support their External Communications function across the UK and Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-performing communications team, helping to drive impactful media engagement and elevate brand visibility through data-led storytelling.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of External Communications (UK & Ireland), you will play a key role in delivering proactive and reactive PR activity, supporting ongoing campaigns while identifying new opportunities to amplify presence across national, consumer, and trade media.
You will collaborate closely with internal PR teams and cross-functional stakeholders including marketing, insights, and research teams to bring compelling narratives to life.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute a strong media relations programme across consumer, lifestyle, business, and trade press
* Develop and deliver strategic PR plans that enhance thought leadership and brand positioning
* Identify and secure high-impact media opportunities aligned to current news and trends
* Build and maintain relationships with key journalists across national, regional, and trade outlets
* Create high-quality communications materials including press releases, briefings, articles, and commentary
* Support spokesperson preparation and manage media interviews where required
* Monitor media enquiries and ensure timely responses
* Maintain and continuously develop media contact lists
* Work collaboratively to complement existing PR agency activity and fill strategic gaps
About You
* 4+ years’ experience in PR, communications, or journalism
* Strong media relations experience with a track record of securing top-tier coverage
* Excellent news sense with the ability to identify timely and relevant stories
* Confident working in a fast-paced, reactive environment
* Experience using data and insights to shape compelling narratives
* Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Proactive, self-sufficient, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
