About the Role
LifeArc is seeking a Director of Preclinical Strategy and Portfolio to lead our translational science efforts within the Paediatric and Rare Cancers team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the preclinical roadmap and managing a diverse portfolio of oncology projects from discovery through to clinical readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the preclinical strategy for paediatric and rare cancer therapeutic programs.
* Oversee the translational portfolio, ensuring projects meet rigorous scientific milestones and timelines.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers to drive innovation in drug discovery.
* Establish and manage strategic partnerships with academic institutions, biotech, and clinical partners.
* Provide expert scientific guidance on target validation, lead optimization, and IND-enabling studies.
* Represent LifeArc at international conferences and within the global oncology research community.
Requirements
* PhD in Oncology, Pharmacology, or a related biological science.
* Extensive experience in preclinical drug development within the oncology space.
* Proven track record of managing complex portfolios and leading high-performing scientific teams.
* Deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with paediatric and rare cancer research.
* Strong network within the UK and international translational research ecosystem.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
