Responsible Individual (Children’s Services)
Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 plus benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Lead. Inspire. Transform.
Our client doesn’t just provide residential care for children and young people—they create safe, nurturing, and life-changing environments where they can heal, grow, and thrive.
Due to an internal promotion, our client is seeking a passionate, values-driven Responsible Individual (RI) to join their Senior Leadership Team. This role will oversee just four homes, all located on the same 3.5-acre site within a therapeutic community—no travel required between homes.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of children’s services, lead and mentor a team of exceptional Registered Managers, and ensure the continued delivery of Outstanding care.
About the Role
As the Responsible Individual, you will:
*
Provide strong leadership across the homes, ensuring every child receives the highest standards of care and support.
*
Be accountable for quality, safeguarding, and compliance in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and the updated Ofsted SCIFF (2023/24).
*
Inspire, coach, lead, and support Registered Managers to consistently achieve ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ outcomes.
*
Champion the voice of children and young people, ensuring their rights and experiences are central to all decisions.
This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll be visible in the homes daily, known by teams and children, and recognised by inspectors as a leader who knows their homes and children inside out.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
*
A passion for making a real difference in children and young people’s lives
*
At least 4 years of leadership experience in children’s residential care
*
Deep knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection framework
*
A proven track record of successful Ofsted inspections (‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’)
*
Strong safeguarding expertise and confidence in managing complex situations
*
Inspirational leadership skills to motivate, support, and develop others
*
Commercial acumen to balance quality with financial sustainability
Why Join Our Client?
*
A growing, values-led organisation committed to therapeutic and child-centred care
*
An innovative team shaping the future of residential childcare
*
A culture of reflection, wellbeing, and support—caring for staff as much as the children
*
Career progression and ongoing professional development
