Special School Nurse
Join to apply for the Special School Nurse role at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. This role is part of the Special School Nursing Team within Barnet.
Responsibilities
* Provide complex nursing care for children aged 4-19 with learning disabilities and complex health needs such as epilepsy, enteral feeding and medication administration.
* Work closely with education and other agencies to support children and ensure they achieve their full potential in school.
* Take overall responsibility for the assessment, provision, management and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care to children in the Special Schools.
* Manage day-to-day care worker staff, equipment and clinical resources in the schools in line with professional standards and quality of care.
* Provide training to relevant support staff and care workers according to agreed competency training packages.
* Provide clinical input to the school management boards for school-wide issues.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse, trained in children's nursing, adult nursing or learning disability nursing.
* Up-to-date clinical nursing skills for children with complex health needs.
* Excellent communication, flexible to the needs of the children and the service and good organisational skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and confident in delivering training to school staff and carers.
* Band 6 level.
