There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at Westhaven Hospital.
This post is 15 hours, Monday to Friday (afternoons/evenings times to be agreed). There may be an opportunity for additional hours to cover staff absence.
This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service that Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, to staff who transfer as well as new staff it recruits itself.
Responsibilities
* The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and also non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital, ensuring that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
* Main duties will include vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, emptying bins, use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
* To support the Facilities Function to ensure that the standard of cleanliness within the Trust is implemented and maintained.
* This role involves working as a team, with a flexible approach, good communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
* The above vacancies offer an opportunity to work extra hours as able - to cover sickness and staff holidays.
Requirements & Benefits
* Employment requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Full on-site training is provided and PPE provision is included.
* Good pay rates, 27 days annual leave per year to start plus Bank Holidays and weekend enhancements if required.
