Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join a council that recognises talent and encourages personal development. As part of Inverclyde Council’s ‘Inverclyde Works’ recruitment and training drive, the apprenticeship targets Inverclyde residents aged 16 – 24 years (up to 29 for those with a disability and/or care experience). Successful applicants will be employed on a fixed‑term 18‑month contract, working 37 hours per week and will attain a SCQF Level 5/6 Business Administration qualification. The annual salary is £24,242.
Responsibilities
* Work in a busy office environment within departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Environmental Services, Education and Health & Social Care Partnership.
* Carry out administrative tasks and support the team’s day‑to‑day operations.
* Develop key skills including teamwork, problem‑solving, communication and IT use under the guidance of a supervisor.
* Engage with training assessors to ensure full completion of the college and on‑site training programme.
* Meet agreed timescales and targets to achieve the qualification within 18 months.
Qualifications
* SCQF Level 4 Maths (or equivalent).
* Two SCQF Level 5 qualifications, including English, at Grade C or above.
* Alternatively, completion of a relevant Foundation Apprenticeship.
* Willingness to commit to the apprenticeship schedule and training requirements.
