A nursery in Cookham is looking for a Qualified Level 2/3 Practitioner.
The position involves working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with shifts between 07:30 am and 6:00 pm.
Salaries start from minimum wage for Nursery Practitioners and Room Leaders, from £25,000. There is room for negotiation based on experience and knowledge.
Offering a joining bonus for full-time positions: £1500 for qualified practitioners, £500 for unqualified (subject to a successful 6-month probation).
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, preventing accidents and promoting security and satisfaction among parents.
2. Cater to the daily needs of children to support their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.
3. Contribute effectively to the team, maintaining high communication standards throughout the nursery.
Main Tasks
Team Contribution
1. Work effectively as part of the nursery team, maintaining good morale and reputation, and meeting all company standards.
2. Be aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.
3. Encourage and include student staff members in daily activities and development.
Child and Parent Care
1. As a Key Carer, ensure parents are satisfied through appropriate communication and feedback.
2. Communicate with children at their level during play and mealtimes.
3. Assist in settling new children and keep parents informed of their child's progress.
4. Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure children are tidy, happy, and ready for collection.
5. Provide daily updates to parents via diary sheets or verbal communication.
6. Respect confidentiality of personal information.
7. Be welcoming to parents and children, directing queries to the appropriate supervisor when needed.
Administration and Planning
1. Foster social and educational stimulation through age-appropriate curriculum planning.
2. Keep developmental records up to date and accessible to parents.
3. Maintain routines within each nursery area.
4. Accurately complete room registers and sign-in sheets.
5. Organize and maintain accessible filing systems.
Nursery Communication
1. Participate in regular staff and room meetings.
2. Communicate effectively with senior management about daily occurrences.
3. Follow procedures for communicating with parents.
4. Report maintenance needs promptly.
5. Keep all matters concerning children, parents, staff, and business confidential.
Health and Safety
1. Implement health and safety procedures to ensure safety of children and staff.
2. Be aware of risk assessments and act on recommendations.
3. Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
4. Ensure toys and equipment are stored safely and correctly.
5. Keep rooms clean and tidy at the end of each day.
6. Report repairs needed for toys and equipment.
7. Participate in regular fire drills.
8. Record accidents appropriately and inform relevant parties.
9. Regularly check electrical appliances if applicable.
