Description and Requirements
This role will serve as a key legal partner to the Solutions and Services Group (SSG) globally, advising on services and solutions regulation including insurance products, regulated warranty products, insurance-related matters in the context of DaaS, IaaS, and Industry Solutions.
1. Manage the legal workstream for SSG services and solutions and Motorola Business Group insurance and compliance
2. Lead negotiations with insurance partners, channel partners and vendors around insurance products.
3. Engage constructively with customers and counterparties during negotiations, fostering professional and solutions-oriented relationships that support successful deal outcomes.
4. Develop understanding of existing contractual commitments for SSG Customers
5. Working with the SSG Services Team
6. Advising the SSG Team on a wide range of regulatory and commercial legal issues and project-related issues.
7. Provide legal support for the Lenovo Teams developing new services, software and solutions particularly in warranty and insurance areas.
8. Collaborate with internal and outside counsel, specific subject matter experts, and stakeholders
9. Work closely with Lenovo’s lawyers, as well as services, projects and procurement teams in the Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
10. Work closely with the Global Contracts Team and other Contract Management Teams to ensure that where they are supporting SSG Managed Services, they have the necessary training, playbooks and templates related to your projects and compliance in insurance-related matters in particular.
11. Effectively engage in issue-spotting and involving legal subject matter experts within the broader corporate-level Lenovo Legal Department
12. Work efficiently to supplement internal resources across Lenovo’s geographies with advice from outside counsel as needed
13. Draft standard templates for new solutions and services related to insurance, warranty and compliance issues.
14. Provide clear, pragmatic legal guidance that enables business teams to support efficient deal execution while appropriately managing risk.
15. Develop commercially practical solutions to resolve contractual and regulatory issues in collaboration with sales, delivery, finance and legal stakeholders.
16. Maintain transparency with legal leadership and business stakeholders regarding project and compliance status, risks and escalation points.
Required Degree
17. 12+ years of experience in legal projects and regulatory work.
18. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a global organization involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
Preferred Qualifications:
19. Ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous, and ever-changing environment, within evolving legal frameworks, policies and governance programs while maintaining effective compliance and project drive.
20. Experience working in a regulated industry, particularly financial, with insurance experience highly desirable.
21. Comfortable negotiating directly with clients and/or third parties
22. Strong team player who builds strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
23. Solid project management experience
24. Commercial awareness with ability to understand the sales team’s perspective and balance contractual and legal risk
