We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Kinship team at Grade 8. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead and support a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to kinship carers and the children in their care.

Key Objectives
\

* Provide effective supervision and leadership to social workers within the Kinship team.
\
* Ensure the delivery of safe, timely, and high-quality assessments and interventions for kinship carers and children.
\
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
\
* Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
\
\
Main Responsibilities
\
\
* Supervise and support social workers, promoting reflective practice and professional growth.
\
* Manage caseloads to ensure timely and thorough assessments and reviews.
\
* Lead case discussions, providing expert advice on complex kinship care situations.
\
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of social work practice within the team.
\
* Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to coordinate care plans and safeguard children.
\
* Contribute to training and development programmes for staff within the service.
\
* Prepare reports, contribute to audits, and maintain accurate records in line with organisational standards.
\
* Support service managers in implementing policies and strategic objectives.
\
* Promote an inclusive culture that values diversity and equality.
\

Requirements
\
\
* Qualified Social Worker with current HCPC registration.
\
* Substantial post‑qualifying experience in child protection and kinship care.
\
* Proven experience in supervising social workers or equivalent leadership roles.
\
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and best practices relating to kinship care.
\
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
\
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
\
* Commitment to promoting safeguarding and the welfare of children and families.
\
* Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications
\
\
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
\
* HCPC registration as a Social Worker.
\
* Post‑qualifying award or management qualification desirable.
