Job Title: Day Support Worker Location: Newport, South Wales (Home-based) Position Type: Day Shifts (Part-time / Full-time) Job Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Day Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 care for a young person within her home in Newport, South Wales. This role focuses on supporting daily living needs, promoting comfort and wellbeing, and working alongside a Registered Nurse at all times to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Key Responsibilities: Provide 2:1 support during daytime hours in a home environment Work alongside a Registered Nurse at all times to support the delivery of clinical and personal care Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene needs Support with mobility, positioning, and comfort throughout the day Assist with feeding and hydration as required Monitor the individual's condition and promptly report any changes to the Registered Nurse Support engagement in appropriate activities to enhance wellbeing and quality of life Provide emotional reassurance and companionship Maintain accurate daily records and documentation Work collaboratively with the Registered Nurse, family members, and the wider care team Follow all safeguarding, care, and infection control procedures Essential Requirements: Previous experience in a care or support worker role (paediatric or complex care experience desirable) Understanding of person-centred care and dignity in care Ability to work effectively as part of a team alongside a Registered Nurse Good communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience supporting individuals with complex health needs Awareness of palliative care principles Experience working with young people Basic clinical skills (e.g. observation recording), with willingness to undertake further training Working Hours: Day shifts (e.g.12 hour shifts) Flexible rota may be available What We Offer: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience) Ongoing training and development opportunities Supportive team environment with clinical oversight Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young person's life Safeguarding Statement: This role involves working with a vulnerable young person and is subject to enhanced DBS checks and appropriate safeguarding procedures.
