 
        
        Applications are invited for a Medical Secretary in the ENT Department at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), North Wales.
Job Overview
Provide efficient administration service to support the medical secretary team. Work closely with administrative, secretarial, nursing and medical colleagues to deliver comprehensive secretarial support. Duties include audio typing of clinical letters, discharge summaries, and other record handling, filing, and administrative tasks. Must have good attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Manage workload efficiently and effectively.
Previous medical administration experience is advantageous, but not essential. Experience in a busy office environment desirable. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome.
Main Duties
 * Support the coordination of administration arrangements for consultant, medical and nursing team.
 * Organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
 * Support the facilitation of patients along a defined pathway.

Qualifications – Essential Criteria
 * NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent.
 * RSA / OCR level 2 or equivalent (proficient user of Microsoft Word).
 * Knowledge of a range of administrative processes.
 * Experience of working in a busy office environment.
 * Competently communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.
 * Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications.
 * Experience in planning, organising and prioritising own workload.
 * Evidence of continual personal development.
Qualifications – Desirable Criteria
 * AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3.
 * NVQ Customer Service L3.
 * Experience of working within the NHS.
 * Minute‑taking skills.
