Operations Manager – Oakshot Contracting
Based in Hemel Hempstead | Pay: Competitive (based on experience)
We’re looking for someone solid to step in as Operations Manager at Oakshot Contracting.
We do enablement works for developers and house builders—tree clearance, fencing, ecology etc. We also do tree works and landscaping for a wider client base, although our focus is on construction.
What you’ll be doing:
– Running sites from start to finish
– Managing subcontractors and keeping things moving
– Operating plant & machinery when needed, getting stuck in hand cutting and helping out as required.
– Keeping our kit in top shape - organising servicing, repairs, and maintenance
– Making sure every job’s done cleanly, safely, and on time
What we’re after:
– Someone who’s hands-on, switched on, and knows how sites work
– Good at leading a team but not afraid to jump on the tools
– Organised, reliable, and doesn’t wait to be told
– Experience in forestry/tree work/groundworks/agriculture.
– CPCS/NPORS and some practical knowledge of machine maintenance is ideal, as well as NPTC tree/chainsaw related tickets.
This isn’t a clipboard job - you’ll be in the thick of it. But if you’re sharp, practical, have good banter, and take pride in doing things properly, you’ll fit right in.
