Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team. You will play a vital role in providing a high-quality service that enables patients to access new, ground breaking treatments through study protocols.
We are looking for someone with strong clinical knowledge, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for excellence. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Pharmacist Transformation, Cancer Services & Clinical Trials, to deliver a comprehensive and high-quality clinical trials pharmacy service.
Main duties of the job
* Working as part of the clinical trials team to provide the pharmacy input and coordination of all aspects relating to trial medicines management within the Dispensary/ Day units/ Wards as required, to ensure that the supply of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) is undertaken in accordance with current legislation and best practice guidelines, ensuring appropriate handling of IMP to safeguard patients, staff and the Trust.
* Provide specialised pharmaceutical and clinical advice for all trial medicines, to senior medical and nursing staff, across all specialisms.
* Work closely with the research team and provide highly specialist advice in prescribing and management of adverse events of IMP in line with the clinical trial protocol.
* Support the pharmacy clinical trials team, for all education and training and clinical governance to new and active clinical trials.
* Provide a framework for the safe, efficient and cost-effective use of medicine resources within the Clinical trials services, by the provision of education and training, procedures, policies and guidelines and medicines usage information.
* Support on pharmacy aspects relating to maintenance of cancer clinical trials on the e-chemotherapy prescribing system.
* Deputise for the Specialist Cancer Services pharmacist, in their absence.

Person Specification
* MPharm or equivalent
* GPhC registration
* Post Registration Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
* Awareness of current national standards, guidelines, and service delivery issues relevant to clinical trials
* Oncology or Haemato-Oncology Pharmacy experience
* Excellent understanding of hospital pharmacy practice.
* Good Clinical Practice Training and knowledge

The salary for this position is £53,751 to £60,651 a year.
