Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to join the HiJ Musculoskeletal team on a part‑time basis at HMP Preston, HMP Kirkham and HMP Lancaster Farms. The role consists of 12 hours a week at HMP Preston, 8 hours a month at HMP Kirkham and 4 hours a month at HMP Lancaster Farms, with no on‑call or weekend work to support a strong work‑life balance. Salary is £40,000–£49,000 pro‑rota depending on experience.
Main Duties
As podiatrist, you will provide evidence‑based care, advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex or chronic conditions. Your responsibilities include:
* Determining clinical diagnosis and treatment plans, maintaining accurate records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* Delivering non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
* Participating actively in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and procedures.
* Encouraging excellence in the team, identifying high‑risk patients and fostering collaboration with the Practice Plus Group and Health in Justice Service.
* Managing your own caseload and waiting list independently.

Essential Qualifications
* HCPC registration with proven post‑registration experience assessing and treating a range of conditions.
* Experience assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery.
* Self‑motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Evidence of CPD and work within the MSK speciality.
* Non‑judgemental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent IT skills in MS Word and Outlook; experience with electronic notes systems is desirable.

* Experience with electronic notes systems.
