Graduate / Junior Sales Engineer
Location: Derbyshire
Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 plus OTE £30,000 – £36,000 (Including commission)

Our client is an exciting and well-regarded specialist offering a comprehensive range of material testing services to ensure materials meet specified standards and requirements. Established c35 years ago the provide full testing, analysis and expert interpretation for clients across various industries including Automotive and Aerospace.
With their forensic engineering and materials consultancy, they can provide clients with insights and technical solutions which positions them as a trusted partner to some of the UK's most prestigious Blue-chip manufacturers.
The Role
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for growing the client based. Utilising their onsite lab, they work with any product manufacturers with a need for their materials to be tested.
This is a very consultative Sales role so an interest or some experience in building relationships and selling a technical service and solution is required.
Responsibilities
* 80% new business development – generating RFQs for services. The successful Graduate or Junior Sales Engineer will get their foot in the door and begin the initial request for quote, the technical detailed conversation will be picked up by the lab team after the initial conversation / meeting has taken place.
* New business channels will include trade shows, linked in research, marketing leads, general company lists.
* Attending customer visits 1-2 days per week to discuss requirements and which services can be provided.
The Candidate
* Either an Engineering related degree OR experience working within Technical Sales.
* A background or interest in Technical / Solution focussed sales.
* Strong relationship and business development skills.
* Someone with an appetite for success who would feel comfortable working to targets.
* Someone who is happy to travel to client sites and work in a client facing role.
* A mechanical engineering background or understanding would be highly advantageous.
