Hays Education is currently working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Preston to recruit a dedicated andpassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
Your new role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning plans
1. Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources to meet pupils’ needs
2. Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
3. Supporting pupils in developing independence and confidence
4. Collaborating with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support
What you'll need to succeed
5. Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting
6. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
7. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
8. A relevant qualification (, Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEND-specific training) is desirable but not essential.
