Job Title: Registered Practitioner - Postoperative Care
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Practitioner to care for patients in the immediate postoperative period, across all age groups and surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality, patient-focused care in the immediate post-operative phase, including care for High Dependency Patients, Paediatric patients, and the elderly as needed.
2. Create and maintain a safe environment for all patients attending theatres and PACU.
3. Coordinate and carry out postoperative care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
4. Support and develop staff and students in PACU, acting as both Mentor and Preceptor.
5. Ensure patient pathways are safe and fit for purpose, working with the wider hospital community.
6. Provide one-to-one patient care, managing airway compromise, postoperative pain, nausea, vomiting, and psychological support for patients and relatives.
7. Ensure timely transfer of patients to onward care, whether as day cases or inpatients.
8. Care for High Dependency patients when competent and able to do so.
