Rocksteady Studios is an award-winning, critically acclaimed video game developer founded in 2004, renowned for the Batman: Arkham series. We are seeking a Lead Animation Programmer to join our dedicated and collaborative team, focused on delivering our next AAA title.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of animation programmers, coordinating with development partners.
* Ensure high-quality delivery of AAA animation systems and pipelines.
* Collaborate with Production to plan the Animation Code team’s schedule.
* Implement and drive new animation and cinematics features and pipelines.
* Coordinate with other disciplines, communicating technical concepts effectively.
* Support gameplay teams by evaluating feature requests and improving pipelines.
* Work with the Technical Director and other Leads to improve development processes.
Technical Requirements
* Advanced understanding of C++ and software development.
* Proficient with modern animation pipelines and tools.
* Experience with animation tools such as 3DSMax, Maya, or MotionBuilder; plugin development experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of gaming platform requirements.
* Experience with physics simulation, such as cloth and ragdoll physics.
* Experience optimizing animation systems and assets.
* Experience with Motion Matching locomotion systems.
* Unreal Engine 5 experience is advantageous.
Skill Requirements
* Line management and team leadership experience.
* Experience working on and shipping at least one AAA game.
* Understanding of game technology principles.
* Supporting and collaborating with artists to produce high-quality content.
Working Model
This role follows a Hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work, subject to company policy and agreement with your Line Manager.
