Job Title: Operations Director – Powered Access
£70,000-£100,000 plus bonus, benefits and share scheme

With a modern fleet, a reputation for safety and reliability, and an ambitious growth trajectory, we’re now seeking a proven Operations Director with experience of managing teams and developing processed in the Powered Access world to take the lead in driving operational performance, service delivery, and future scalability.
The Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end operational performance of our business from depot efficiency and engineering turnaround, to fleet optimisation and customer satisfaction. You’ll be a key member of the senior leadership team, helping shape the strategic direction of the company and ensuring we remain the supplier of choice in a highly competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead national operations across depots, engineering teams, transport and service
Drive utilisation, availability, and reliability across the fleet
Oversee health & safety, compliance, and quality standards – ensuring operational excellence across all sites
Optimise asset management and engineering turnaround to minimise downtime
Collaborate closely with sales, hire desk, and commercial teams to align service delivery with customer expectations
Implement KPIs, reporting structures, and performance reviews to drive accountability
Identify and execute process improvements to support scale and profitability
Mentor, develop and inspire depot and operational managers to deliver against targets
Support strategic growth including potential acquisitions, new depot openings, or service expansions
What You’ll Bring
Senior operations leadership experience within powered access, plant hire, construction equipment, or a closely related sector
Deep understanding of fleet management, engineering turnaround, and depot performance
Track record of driving safety, compliance, and operational improvement
Commercially aware, with experience working cross-functionally with sales and commercial teams
Strong leadership, coaching and change management skills
Data-driven mindset, with experience using KPIs and reporting tools to monitor and improve performance
Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
