Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Bridgwater
Salary: Up to £53,000 + Package
Hours: Monday to Friday - Days
About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing multi‑site manufacturing business based in Bridgwater. The company is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a hands‑on, leadership‑focused role responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of production equipment. You will ensure machinery is maintained safely, efficiently, and reliably, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives alongside the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and carry out hands‑on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on production machinery
* Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the company's high standards
* Supervise and support engineers and external contractors during maintenance activities
* Conduct thorough post‑maintenance checks and ensure safe handover of equipment to production
* Identify faults, defects, or follow‑up work and escalate appropriately to prevent unplanned downtime
* Plan and prepare for upcoming PPMs, ensuring tools, materials, permits, and documentation are ready
* Collaborate with the TPM Manager to refine and improve maintenance procedures
* Support wider engineering activities including reactive maintenance, installations, and continuous improvement projects
Candidate Requirements
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
* Proven experience executing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
* Ability to fault‑find, repair, and maintain production equipment (motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, control systems)
* Knowledge of safe systems of work, including LOTO, permits, and isolations
* Experience using maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS)
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering
* Electrical qualifications including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable but not essential)
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
