Director – Transport Planning Team
Location: Birmingham City – Transport – Full Time, Permanent
About The Role
As a Director, you will work closely with the Senior Director. Your responsibilities will include leading and shaping the transport planning team and steering business strategy both locally and regionally. You’ll act as a work generator and oversee daily project management tasks, such as preparing fee proposals and bids, drawing on your technical knowledge and experience. Additionally, you will manage junior staff members, review technical work, and ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality results on complex projects. You will engage with multidisciplinary teams inside and outside Pegasus, engage directly with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders, and play a role in broader industry activities, representing the company and seeking new business opportunities.
What Are We Looking For
* Professional qualifications (e.g. Transport Planning Professional TPP or Chartered Engineer CEng) desirable but not essential.
* 10 to 15 years’ experience in the industry with a proven track record.
* Extensive transport planning knowledge, including Transportation Assessment work; appeal experience an advantage.
* A good network of client contacts and a wider network in the built environment sector.
* A team player with good interpersonal skills, sound project, financial and staff management and leadership skills.
* Demonstrable ability to work autonomously, innovate, use initiative and build business.
* Capable of managing a wide and complex workload.
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
