Occupational Therapy Assistant
South Thames Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist Occupational Therapists in supporting learners with learning and communication differences such as ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia, learning disabilities and complex needs.
You’ll implement individual and/or group sessions to support participation in functional learning activities and liaise with teaching teams and families to provide a coordinated approach, integrating Occupational Therapy recommendations into each learner’s day. You will monitor therapeutic recommendations to ensure effectiveness, contribute to holistic support plans, and prepare contributions for EHCP reviews as needed.
We seek someone with a recent record of working with a caseload of young adults with a wide range of learning and communication differences, devising and implementing Occupational Therapy recommendations for those with communication differences, ASD and complex needs. Experience contributing to assessment reports or feedback for a wide audience, delivering quality therapeutic recommendations, communication development support, staff development and student success is essential.
You should be organised, communicate effectively at all levels, use initiative, prioritise workload, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. With good computer skills, you can work flexibly and contribute to reviewing existing systems/service development, maintaining clear and accurate records.
This is a Group-wide role requiring travel across South Thames Colleges Group sites.
