Overview
As Repairs Surveyor you will manage and deliver high‑quality repairs and minor works across our homes. You will undertake property surveys, diagnose building defects, and prepare detailed specifications to ensure repairs comply with legislation and professional standards. You will coordinate works between our property service repairs team and external contractors, ensuring efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct property surveys and conduct pre‑/post/work‑in‑progress assessments to determine required repairs and maintenance.
* Prepare detailed specifications for works that meet professional standards and legal requirements.
* Support repairs supervisors with technical enquiries and manage your own repair projects.
* Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, hold regular contract meetings, and ensure compliance with H&S policies.
* Balance technical expertise, contractor management, and customer service to deliver effective property maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Contract management experience and building pathology/surveying background.
* Experience producing specifications for works and strong diagnostic skills.
* Excellent technical knowledge and building pathology expertise.
* Interpersonal skills to collaborate with contractors and stakeholders across the business.
* Relevant technical qualification (building related and/or project manager related) preferred.
* Knowledge of the social housing sector is advantageous, though not essential.
* Proficient IT usage and overall knowledge of repairs & maintenance service, including H&S procedures.
Travel & Licensing
Requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use. Business mileage will be paid. A basic DBS check is required.
Salary & Bonus
£42,000–£46,000 dependent on experience plus discretionary bonus.

Working Hours & Location
Full time permanent role, 37 hours per week. Hybrid with a minimum of 20% office based. Based in Portsmouth or Basingstoke, covering Hampshire and surrounding counties. Will travel to other Hampshire locations as required.
