About the role We are looking for a senior workforce leader to join our high performing team at NHS Employers to lead our work with NHS organisations on widening participation and social mobility during 2026-27. Please note, this will be a fixed term role until 31 March 2027. You will have specific responsibility to co-create and lead the offer which will help the NHS in England to adopt leading edge employment practices in support of ensuring the NHS is an inclusive employer. You will engage with leads from NHS organisations across England, partners representing colleges and universities, Government officials and connect with colleagues across NHS Employers to build and deliver the programme content as well as reaching out through our network of industry leaders to bring the latest thinking and evidence to provoke and stimulate ideas to be used in the NHS. As a member of the workforce supply senior team you will help to ensure the success of the whole directorate and that it remains a place where colleagues want to work. You will also work with peers and directors to ensure the offer NHS Employers provides to NHS organisations is relevant, timely and impactful. About you Senior manager/deputy director level experience in an NHS workforce role or team Track record of successful delivery of large scale change project/s Experience of creating and embedding employment approaches in the NHS which support widening participation and improving social mobility. Knowledge of evidence based and leading-edge widening participation approaches Skills and experience in facilitating impactful sessions for diverse audiences, in support of changing employment practice/behaviour Experience of managing people and working as part of a senior team to ensure wider team and organisational effectiveness.
