Inpatient Unit, Hawick Community Hospital
1 x 37 hours a week rotational
1 x 22.5 hours per week rotational
Are you innovative, enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to providing high-quality care and treatment?
If so, we have an opportunity to join our small but supportive team at Hawick Community Hospital. We have 24 inpatient beds and a day hospital.
The Healthcare Support Worker plays a significant role in patients’ recovery. We provide person-centred rehabilitation and re-enablement for patients from our local community. This will be a challenging and exciting opportunity to enable individuals to develop new and enhance existing skills. The successful candidates will need to be passionate about dementia care and demonstrate enthusiasm and motivation to make a real difference, working within our trust values. They must be able to work as part of a team but also independently.
Individuals are supported by a multidisciplinary team led by Practitioners, Nursing, and Therapeutic staff to achieve their goals. This may follow a hospital admission or a period of being unwell at home, where the unit may be a more suitable environment to provide individualised care. We also provide nursing support to patients who have reached their end of life.
The emphasis is on reducing length of stay while ensuring excellent care that is safe, effective, personalised, and compassionate, up to the standards expected for your family and friends.
Shifts include long days and nights, including weekends and bank holidays.
For further information, please contact Senior Charge Nurse Denise West or Charge Nurse Isobel Sloan at 01450 372162 for more details or an informal discussion.
***PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications, so please ensure your application is submitted early.***
