An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior clinical fellow (ST3 and above equivalent) post in ENT at Salisbury NHSFT. You will be an integral part of the ENT team involved in the assessment and management of ENT emergencies, outpatients & inpatients. This post would be a good opportunity to develop your ENT emergency & operating skills and management of Otology, rhinology & H&N cancer patients. You will be expected to prepare patients for discussion at the weekly Head & Neck MDT. You will supervise ENT juniors. The out of hours on call is shared with Southampton General Hospital so there will be the opportunity to get exposure to complex ENT cases in a tertiary centre. A comprehensive induction is provided. The rota is European Working Time directive compliant of 48 hours.
Main duties of the job
Duties include:
Care of ENT inpatients
Assessment and management of ENT emergencies
Booking of ENT emergency clinic with close liaison with nursing staff
Supervision of ENT junior doctors
Support of Head & Neck service – clinics, theatre lists & MDT meetings
Out of hours middle grade on call for ENT network on 1 in 9 weekdays
ENT network includes Southampton & Winchester so a car will be required

Person specification
ENT experience
Essential criteria
1. MBBS (or equivalent)
2. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
3. MRCS or MRCS ENT
4. Sound Management of ENT outpatients & inpatients
5. 1 year of ENT junior doctor experience in the NHS minimum
Desirable criteria
6. Understand audit principles
7. ENT Middle grade Level experience on call
